Service Electric implements barcode technology to their shippers to switch from OCR during the indexing process of eDocSavant. They also implement a process to automatically split the documents when a new barcode order number is found. This allows the operator to scan a batch of shippers and the system separates the documents, reads the barcodes, looks up the order information, embeds that information into the file name and PDF, and saves the information and link in the OrderSavant database. This gives Service's staff and customers the ability to pull up proof of delivery without opening a single file cabinet or making a single phone call.
