Phil Ross, president of Allied Electric agreed to install and train users on OrderSavant. Touchscreens were set up at the front counter, a wireless bar code scanner was attached for cash sales, a customer store front was configured, a wireless handheld computer was setup to build orders, and lighting and inside sales were trained on the system. Phil also agreed to help design a COBOL interface for creating orders on the Array system to replace the existing screen-scraping process. This will give us more flexibility, make the process faster, and give OrderSavant better cross-version compatibility with Array.
