Savance Expands Its Presence in the Oil & Gas Industry with Purpose-Built Electronic Emergency Mustering

Transocean commits to outfitting additional vessels in the Gulf of Mexico and Canada with Savance’s electronic mustering in 2019; ongoing discussions with other major players in the oil and gas industry

COMMERCE, Mich. – Sept. 3, 2019 — Savance, a provider of business automation and employee tracking software solutions, announces that the company is expanding its presence in the oil and gas industry this year with additional Transocean vessels switching from paper-based mustering processes to Savance’s custom-built electronic emergency management solution.

By committing to a phased rollout of Savance’s Emergency Mustering on its entire fleet, Transocean chooses to lead the way in offshore safety and accountability, areas that are often still handled through paper-based methods. Savance Emergency Mustering Offshore is a fully customizable electronic system for emergency preparedness and management, specifically geared towards offshore organizations, such as ships, oil rigs, and other vessels. It was developed in close collaboration with Transocean. A recent overview video can be found here.

“Helping Transocean demonstrate their commitment to life safety is exciting for Savance. It’s the type of project where you are proud to say you played an important part since it can make a real difference,”said Steve Bardocz, President and CEO of Savance LLC.

“I jokingly refer to the implementation of the Savance electronic muster system at Transocean as the culmination of my life’s work,” said Captain Steven Walker, now retired Marine Manager, who found Savance on behalf of Transocean. “It is a cost-effective, robust, and reliable system that can save people’s lives.”
